Sometimes God will tell a prophet to give someone a word of correction. It may even make you feel guilty for having to speak harshly to someone that may need to hear the truth. If you are feeling like you have to be direct with someone about an issue and if you see that they simply do not change, then it may be time to give them a corrective word harshly. Everything must be done out of love and for a purpose. However, some people don’t get the message unless you tell them something bluntly and directly to the point.
In our society, many young people have adopted the spirit of laziness. They don’t want to work and they don’t want to go to school. They simply just want to live off of society and say, “gimme, gimme, gimme.” They want to sit around while their Christian friends and parents are out working. This is something that needs correction. The Apostle said in the New Testament that we should not even associate ourselves with lazy people. It says that if a person does not work, then you should not let them eat either.
This is a true statement because many people will go through years and even a lifetime of not working and just sucking off of society for a free place to live and some food to eat. These people often have to get dealt with harshly. Many Christian parents try to handle this nicely by saying that, “Johnny will one day get a job or that he is trying, but not getting anywhere.” I can understand if this person was working and then got suddenly laid off or fired. That is a different story. I am talking about those that just refuse to work. Perhaps you know of someone that simply has a reputation of not wanting to work and putting guilt trips on others to take care of them. Don’t feel sorry for these people and don’t let them have a piece of bread because they are lazy.
First you should talk to them about getting a job. If they still refuse, then you should tell them with force that getting a job is a must or else you will disassociate yourself from them. The tougher you are on lazy people, the more they are prone to do what they are supposed to do. You don’t want to have to support someone for the rest of their life. Some lazy people are actually waiting for people to die around them in hopes to get an inheritance. They wait for that “magic day” where they can just roll in some cash and some money. This is not a good way to live and it certainly does not please God.
As prophets, you are called to be the spokesperson for God’s word. Most prophets are not liked because they often have to deal with people harshly. You must pray and ask God how you are supposed to deliver the prophetic word to that person. Some people simply will not listen. If they don’t listen, then it is not your fault. You have spoken the prophetic word and have done their job. Next, the person will face judgment from God in whatever way He chooses. God has the full authority over people and will deal with people harshly that disobey His word and who take care of innocent people. God will not let these kinds of people get away with their laziness forever. Eventually, God will deal with them.
If you are thinking of confronting someone today that is simply lazy, then I highly encourage you to do so. Pray about it first and then use your prophetic gifts.
